She died peacefully in the Extended Care Annex of Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo, California. She had been taken to the hospital by ambulance on the 16th of December 1998 with chest pains and shortness of breath. She was diagnosed as having fluid in her lungs. That was cured but her heart was badly damaged and only one valve was operating. She suffered no pain once the lungs were cleared.
