Mrs. Florence was predeceased by her husband, G.C. Florence, Junior, her parents, Charley W. Freeman and Arlena Stricklin Freeman, two brothers, Denson Freeman (died at four-years-old) and Dual and wife, Nona May Freeman and three brothers-in-law, Emmit Fields, L.K. Manning and John Lively.
She lived all her life except the last 5 1/2 years in the Cold Springs Community. In October of 2002, she moved to Forsyth, Georgia, to be near her son, where she became a member of Paran Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Florence was active in Save A Pet Animal Rescue.
Before moving to Georgia, she was active in Cold Springs Missonary Baptist Church, where she taught Vacation Bible School and Training Union. Mrs. Florence attended several Southern Baptist Conventions.
She loved swimming and fishing on Smith Lake, where she and her husband stayed during the summer months.
Survivors include; one son, Charles W. and wife, Patricia Florence, of Forsyth, Georgia; one daughter, Jann and husband, John King, of Denver, Colorado; three sisters, Eva Fields, of Breman, Grace Manning, of Cullman and Mellojo Lively, of Alabaster; one brother, George Coleman and wife, Emmalene Freeman, of Breman and two grandchildren, Drew King and Haley King, both of Denver, Colorado.
Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., on July 1, 2008, at Cold Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Moss Service Funeral Home was in charge.
