Anna Priscilla Hall Bauer was born on a small farm near Dunn County, North Dakota. She lived her entire life in Alexandria, graduating from high school. She also met her husband Bud in Alexandria and raised her children and enjoyed her many friends. Ann loved the people and places of Alexandria -- big Ole, the many snowmobile trails she and Bud traveled, drifting Lake Latoka in search of the prize walleye, Noonan Park, Krueger's Creek, fine dining at the Legion Club (in the presence of those wonderful portraits of the men who served our country), the great deals on swap shop and just sitting in her backyard on Cedar Street enjoying the peace and beauty of her town...Alexandria.
Ann died June 7, 1996 at the age of 82. Ann was preceded in death by her husband Bud and son Bruce. She is survived by her daughter Bonnie Comer and husband John of Roseville; son Barry Bauer and wife Maureen of Littleton, CO; daughter-in-law, Karen Bauer Arnold and husband Jim of Wayzata; grandchildren, Steve Bauer, Jill Toffa and husband Antoine, Jami Bauer and Jacob Bauer; great grandson, Sinclair Toffa.
She will be remembered as a loving and generous mother who loved everything nature had to offer. Ann was one of the original "tree huggers", a poet, a music lover and she never met a stranger. Her family and friends will miss her.
Memorial services were held at the Roseville Memorial Chapel in St. Paul on June 10, 1996. Private interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were with the Roseville Memorial Chapel in St. Paul.
