Mr Hendrix attended school at the Hall School on Richland until his family moved to Marshall in 1942, where he attended school until the family moved to Oklahoma.
He spent 20 years in the Air Force and many years overseas in many countries. Richland was always in his heart and close on his mind. In later years he wrote a book entitled "Ozark Boy," that told of his childhood on Richland Creek and his adult life in other places. He spoke of his Uncle Henry and Aunt Ledie Barnett. He will be laid to rest beside them in the Hall Cemetery on Richland Creek, Eula, Arkansas.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years Wendy Coulson; son, Alan; daughters, Lisa and Chloe; five grandchildren, all of Ipswich, England; sisters, Arlene of Oklahoma, and Twila and Trudy of Indiana; and half-sister, Judy of Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest son, Mark.
Grave side services will be held December 8, 2012 at the Hall Cemetery with Joe Joslin with the Searcy County Veteran's Affairs Office officiating.
