Bertha Francis Hensley was born on April 25, 1906 in Hiltons Station, Scott Co., VA. She moved to the Norton, VA area with her dad after the death of her mom. Bertha remembers living in a two story white house in Ice Plant Hollow. It was known as the Haunted house. Bertha married Hobart Hilton in 1922. In 1943, Hobart & Bertha & their children moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. They lived there for about a year & then they moved to California.
