Louise Adams, 95, widow of Judge George P. Adams, died Oct. 19, 2003, at Walker Methodist Health Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
Margaret Louise Innes was born Nov. 2, 1907, near Woodlandville in rural Boone County, Mo., the daughter of James McDonald Innes and Mattie F. Young. She graduated from Fayette (Mo.) High School and Central College in Fayette. After graduation, she lived in Markum Gulch, Utah, while teaching art and English at Bingham Canyon High School. As a youth, she developed an interest in saddle horse riding and art, and continued her interest in art as an adult.
On Feb. 4, 1933, in Olathe, Kan., she married George Adams, a recent graduate of the University of Missouri Law School, whom she met while they were both students at Central. He subsequently served as Mexico City Attorney, Audrain County Attorney, a member of the Mexico City Council, and Judge of the 12th Judicial Circuit for Audrain, Montgomery, and Warren Counties. He retired at the end of 1976 and died Feb. 16, 1980, in Ocala, Fla. In 1984 Mrs. Adams moved to Minneapolis to be near family.
Mrs. Adams was a homemaker during her years in Mexico. She was a charter member of the Audrain Hospital Auxiliary and PEO Chapter IO. She was a member of Mexico United Methodist Church and Hennepin Ave. United Methodist Church in Minneapolis.
A sister, Nina Belle, died in infancy before Mrs. Adams was born.
A memorial service was held Oct. 23 in Minneapolis. A second memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Mexico United Methodist Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
The family prefers memorials to the Mexico United Methodist Church or the Innes Family Scholarship at Central Methodist College in Fayette.
