Born on Dec. 3, 1921, in Keyser, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ira (Washington) Keys. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Waddell Blackwell and Frank Alexander, Sr.; a brother, Edward Keys; and two sisters, Eurith Keys, and Blanche Campbell.
Mrs. Alexander was a postal clerk with the U.S. Postal Service, Pittsburgh, Pa. She was a graduate of Howard High School, Piedmont, W.Va., a member of Jane United Methodist Church, Keyser, the Warren United Methodist Church, where she served on the Nurses Committee and was a choir member, Pittsburgh, Harriett Tubman Guild, Pittsburgh, and Washington Post 152 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Keyser.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald L. Keys, of Keyser, Paul F. Keys, and wife, Charlotte, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one daughter, Dorethea "Dookie" Price, of Keyser; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Keys, David Keys, both of Columbus, Ohio; four sisters, Elton Johnson, Susan Mitchel, both of Keyser, Myra Perry, of Columbus, Ohio, and Thelma Stewart, of Keyser.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Samuel E. Starling, Jr., officiating.
Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
