Linda was born on November 26, 1942. She was a 1960 graduate of Oberlin High School. She received her degree in education from USL in 1964. She also earned her master’s degree in education from McNeese State University. She was retired with the State of Louisiana as a social case worker with the Department of Child Welfare. She was loved by so many friends and co-workers across our state.
She enjoyed traveling, especially overseas. She loved visiting churches and other holy sites. Linda also enjoyed photography and making cards for family and friends. Another of her favorite pastimes was reading. Her passion was her family. She was a loving Mom, Nana, and Nannie. She loved attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s many events. She was a cheerleader in her high school years and continued to be a “loud voice” for all Oberlin team sports. Linda was strong in her faith and always put others first. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Craig Joseph Lejeune and wife, Kathy, of Oberlin; three daughters, Michelle Simmons and husband, Jerry, of Santa Fe, TX, Jacqueline Hamilton and husband, Richard, of Kinder, and Monique Shaw of Oberlin; one sister, Deanna Reeves and husband, Tommy, of Lafayette; one brother, Randell Monceaux and wife, Natalie, of Rayne; nine grandchildren-Tabatha, Cristy, Cindy, Blake, Ashleigh, Taylor, Sara, Cameron and Blaine; and seven great grandchildren-Shelbie, Jada, Hunter, Katelyn, Caleb, Nathaniel, and Harper Grace.
