Janice Yoakum, 67, of Springfield, died at 2:50 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center.

Janice was born December 5, 1937 in Martinsburg the daughter of Frank and Mable Barber Lewis. She married Edward Earl Beard; he preceded her in death.

Ms. Yoakum was employed as a payroll clerk for the State of Illinois Department of Transportation where she later retired. She enjoyed crafts, decorating, sewing and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Lewis and stepfather, Glen Miller.

She is survived by two sons: Mark (wife, Terri) Beard of Sherman, Ron (wife, Carol) Dunkel, Jr. of Sherman; daughter: Susan Hinds of Sherman; mother: Mable Miller of Pleasant Plains; seven grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two sisters: Dixie (husband, Leo) Alvies of Springfield, Ginger Miller of Pleasant Plains and several half sisters, half brothers, nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 4-7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 4, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Carolyn Murray officiating. Burial will follow at Farmington Cemetery near Farmingdale.
