Joyce E. Adams, 66, of 44 Rickard St., Cortland, died on Friday, June 11, 2010 in the Cortland Regional Medical Center following a valiant battle with cancer.
Joyce was born April 16, 1944 in Hanibal, NY, a daughter of the late Grover E. Libbey, Sr. and Helena M. Jenks Libbey.
She is survived by two brothers, Lenny M. Libbey of Virgil; Roger F. (Anetha) Libbey of Columbus, OH; four sisters, Patricia A. Stisser of Cortland; Shirley M. (Darryl) West of Truxton; Joy E. (Bill) Weeks of Cortland and Leah H. (Bill) Bonnham of Cincinnatus as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her husband, James E. Adams, Sr. in 2000; her son, James E. Adams, Jr. in 2009; two brothers, Larry M. Libbey in 1974; Grover E. Libbey, Jr. in 2003 and a sister, Lois A. English in 2009.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June16, 2010 in Taylor Rural Cemetery, with Pastor Matthew Smith officiating.
In keeping with Joyce's wishes, there will be no calling hours.
