Zephyr Hills, FL, formerly of Milan--Age 82, passed away Sept. 17, 1987 in Zephyr Hills, FL. Mr. Mcgovern was born Feb. 2, 1905 in Monroeville, IN, the son of James and Wilda McGovern. He married Elsie L. Massey on April 3, 1925 in Milan. A longtime resident of Milan, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge #323, also a member of the Methodist Church in Milan. He worked in the American Foundry and was later a brick mason. After his retirement in 1967, he and Elsie moved to Harrison, MI. In 1976, they moved to Zephyr Hills, FL. He is survived by his wife, Elsie; one son, Fayne (Joanne) McGovern; two daughters, Barbara (Stuart) Bell, Nancy (Jack) Gardiner; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Watley also survives. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, William. Cremation has taken place with a memorial service in Florida. A private burial service will take place in Milan, MI. Family suggests contributions in Mr. McGovern's name be sent to the American Cancer Society or Zephyr Hills Rescue Squad, Zephyr Hills, FL.
