Arthur H."Pappy" Parker, 73, of the Larue community, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, in George County. Mr. Parker was a native of New Orleans and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a former boxer on the Coast and was the retired owner of Biloxi Tent and Awning Company and Pap's Guns and Reloading Supplies. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Patrick H. Parker; his father, August H. Parker, and a brother, Melton C. Parker. Survivors include two sons, David W. Parker of Biloxi and Keith P. Parker of Wiggins; two daughters, Julie Parker Cain of Wiggins and Susan Parker Holmes of Biloxi; his mother, Irma M. Parker of New Orleans; four brothers, Dr. John M. Parker of Shelby, Donald W. Parker of Biloxi, August H. Parker Jr. of China, and Henry P. Parker of Ocean Springs; two sisters, Sister Patricia Parker, RSM, of Vicksburg and June Tucei of New Orleans, and four grandchildren. A service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church on Daisy Vestry Road where friends may call two hours before service time. Burial will be in Southern Memorial Park Cemetery in Biloxi. Riemann Memorial Funeral Home on Beauvoir Road in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
