Mary E. Brown, age 85, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Golden Living Center-Westwood in Clinton, Missouri. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Crossroads Hospice and can be left in care of the funeral home. Mary loved to knit, bake cookies, and to travel. She enjoyed raising her family and studying her family history and geneology.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Lee and Nannie Locket (Hays) Pfister, husbands, Harold Brown and Virgil Alvin Winkler, twin daughters, Nancy Ellen and Patsy Helen, and a grandson, John Paul Bivens.

Among survivors are Mary's four children, Alvin (Pam) Winkler, Keith Winkler, Larry (Linda) Winkler, and Rebecca (Roger) Larson; eight grandchildren David (Ronna) Howard, Eric (Meredith) Doll, Derick (Esther) Doll, Autumn (Donnie) Mount of Clinton, Kevin (Alisa) Goucher of Warsaw, Missouri, Melinda (Nathan) Burke of Portland, Oregon, Tim Winkler of Austin, Texas, Sarah (Scotty) Hagan of Cantonment, Florida; thirteen great-grandchildren Paige and Parker Howard, Garrett and Gavon Doll, Patience Doll, Layne and Landyn Mount, Virgil and Zolan Goucher, Maxwell Burke, Wyatt Burke, and Delaney and Ian Hagan.
