Canajoharie - Mrs. Mary E. Carpenter, 76, of 5 Cliff Street, died yesterday afternoon in St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam. She was the widow of Clarence Carpenter and been a patient since Nov 9. Mrs. Carpenter was born Dec 1, 1879 in Nelliston, daughter of Enoch and Mary Cross Prall, she lived in St. Johnsville for 25 years, later moving to Canajoharie where she resided the past 17 years. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul's Church and the Rosary Society. Surviving are one son, Anthony, one daughter Miss Lavena B. Carpenter, of Canajoharie. One brother Joseph Prall of Albany and several nieces and nephews.
