MRS. EMMA G. (REEVES) DIFFENDERFER, aged 56 years, wife of Alvie E. Diffenderfer; died at the Waynesboro Hospital Sunday morning at 12:30 o'clock, following a four year's illness confined to her bed since last Thanksgiving, of complications of diseases. She underwent an operation Friday morning. She had been admitted to the hospital Tuesday evening.
She was born near Sabillasville, Md., the daughter of Joseph and Amanda (Cline) Reeves. When a small girl her parents moved to Roadside where they lived three years then moving to Waynesboro where she had resided 42 years. She was married to Alvie Diffenderfer, October 17, 1899.
Mrs. Diffenderfer was a member of the Apostolic Church.
Surviving is her husband, two daughters, Mary, at home, and Mrs. George E. Evenshaw, Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren, three brothers, Harry, Quincy; Harve, Waynesboro; Edward, York and one sister, Mrs. Fannie Weagley, Waynesboro, also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the home, 417 Chestnut street, in charge of Rev. H. C. Chanter, Philadelphia. Interment will be made in Green Hill cemetery.
The body may be viewed Tuesday evening at the home between the hours of 7 and 9 o'clock.
