Mrs. Anna Bantel Pittman, long time resident of this city, died at her home on North 7th Street on Wednesday, January 12, at the age of 67 years.
She was born in Darmstadt, Illinois on November 30, 1870, and had resided in Murphysboro the last 60 years.
She was married to Ernest Bantel and after his death married William Pittman on April 26, 1921. Mr. Pittman also preceded her in death.
Surviving relatives include the following children: Ernest Bantel and Fred Bantel of this city; Mrs. Charles Berger, Murphysboro; Mrs. Isaac Bowlby, Valier; Mrs. Joe Piquard, East St. Louis; Joe Bantel, Maplewood, MO. Brothers and sisters surviving are Mick Rhinhardt and Henry Rhinhardt of Pinckneyville; Mrs. John Glasser, Murphysboro; Mrs. John Hottes, Pinckneyville; and Mrs. Lizia Miller, Lenzburg, IL. One brother and one sister preceded her in death.
Mrs. Pittman was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical church and funeral services will be conducted at the church on Friday afternoon. Rev. Wichman in charge. The body was removed from the Crawshaw Funeral home to the home of Mrs. Charles Berger where it will remain until the hour of the funeral.
