FERN SMITH
Menomonie--Fern. L. Smith, 74, died Friday at the The Clairemont, Eau Claire.
Fern Reinhardt was born in Durand and raised in the Durand and Nelson area. She graduated in 1934 in the last class of nurses from the Sacred Heart Nursing School. She worked in several hospitals and doctors offices in the Eau Claire area. She married C. Vaughn Anderson March 13, 1938 in Madison. She later married Carrol Smith April 28, 1973, in Eau Claire and lived in Menomonie since then.
Survivors include her husband, Carrol, three sons, John Anderson, Abasco, Bahamas, Michael Anderson, Medina, Minn., Richard Anderson; Fort Collins, CO; a daughter, Vonna Jean Johnson, Madison; a stepson, Robert Smith, Menomonie; a stepdaughter, Cathey Serwer, Menomonie; two brothers, Kenneth, Eugene, both of Nelson; a sister, Beatrice Johnson, Eau Claire; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and three step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Menomonie, with burial in Cascade Cemetery, rural Nelson.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Olson Funeral Home, Menomonie, and an hour before services at the church.
