Sidney's birth was registered in the September quarter of 1864 in the West Derby Registration District.

Her parents were Owen (born in Anglesey, North Wales) and Elizabeth Roberts.

Sidney married first George Harriott in the West Derby Registration District in December quarter 1898. George had emigrated to the US in 1881 and was a naturalised citizen Following the marriage Sidney also emigrated and the 1900 Census records both as Boarders in S.6th St Philadelphia

George died aged 38 in April 1901 of peritonitis and Sidney married Isaac Ambrose on the 3rd April 1902 in Philadelphia.
