Lorrie was married for years to George Scannell and they had two children, Michael Robert (born in 1956) and Linda. Nephew Bob remembers that Loretta often visited her sister in Grand Rapids. The many wonderful photos we have of the family were shared by Lorraine's daughter Linda.
George would pass away in 1988 and Lorrie married Frank Jerome Baker in 1993, moving to Venice, Florida (Sarasota County) where she passed away in 1997 at the age of 65.
Lorraine E. Baker, 65, Venice, died Jan. 3, 1997.
She was born Nov. 4, 1931, in Big Rapids, Mich., and came to Venice eight years ago from there. She was a member of the Moose and Elks lodges and the Eagles Aerie, all in Venice.
She is survived by her husband, Frank ''Jerry''; a son, Michael Scannell of Venice; a daughter, Linda Rapp of Kalamazoo, Mich.,; and 3 grandchildren.
Reception will be from noon to 3 p.m. Monday at 317 Parkside Drive, Venice. Farley Funeral Home and Crematory, Venice Chapel, is in charge.
(Farley Funeral Home gave me the Sarasota National Cemetery) I am told by a contributor Dan Miller that this is not correct so we will go with grave location unknown.
