Mrs. Emma Banes Of Remington, Dies
Mrs. Emma (Sharkey) Banes, 90, of Route 2, Remington, died at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Kentland nursing home where she had been a patient several months.
Born in White county, Feb. 14, 1884, she was married to Fred A. Banes in 1900. He died in 1944.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mabel Nobach of Grand Rapids, Mich.; one son, Nason, of Remington; nine grandhcildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchldren; one sister, Mrs. Ella Baxter of Rensselaer; and two brothers, Joe Sharkey of Monticello and Napoleon Sharkey of Remington.
Funeral services were conducted at Stitz funeral home, Remington, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, with Rev. Leslie Vaninwegen officiating. Burial was in Remington cemetery.
