R.V. Mitchell Ellis Sr., 85, son of Calvin William Ellis Sr. and Minnie Leak Rhyme Ellis, was born Oct. 10, 1919, at Hughes, Ark. He died Aug. 8, 2005, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla.
Hazel Ellis, 73, daughter of John William and Letha May James Stain was born June 20, 1932, at Bigelow, Ark. She died Aug. 9, 2005, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
The couple was married Oct. 28, 1950. They lived at Licking and owned and operated Ellis Grocery Store for several years. They later moved to Lovington, N.M., where they lived for more than 30 years before returning to Licking.
They were preceded in death by a son, Kenneth W. Ellis; and a great-granddaughter. Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by a brother, O.B. Pierce.
Surviving are their children, Dewayne R.V. Ellis of St. James, Brenda Goosey of McAllen, Texas, R.V. Mitchell "Mickey" Ellis Jr. of Texarkana, Texas, Vanessa Ellis of Licking and Trudy Copeland of Springfield; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services were Aug. 14 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Allie Rains officiating. Burial was in the Licking Cemetery.
