Shirlee Alexander was born in Merced on May 30, 1943 to Elmo and Reba Stewart. She graduated from Merced High School. She was in a accident in 1972 and was a paraplegic until her death. She always kept a good attitude even with her disabilities. Shirlee loved spending time with her nieces and nephews helping to educate them by teaching them their ABCs, numbers and spelling. She is preceded in death by son Jeffrey Alexander, parents Elmo and Reba Stewart, brothers Larry and Danny Stewart. Shirlee is survived by son Dennis Alexander, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, sisters Debbie Cowden, Stephanie Webster and brother Allen Stewart all of Merced. Shirlee is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
