Obituary:
Ora O. Welch, son of Robert M. and Ellen Hayes Welch, was born on a farm near Knoxville, July 30, 1877, and passed away at his home near Dallas, Aug. 29, 1939, after a lingering illness of several months, at the age of 62 years and 29 days.

He was married on Jan. 13, 1904, to Myrtle E. Morkert, and to their union were born four children, who with the wife survive. The children are Mrs. Fern Jones, Dallas, Mrs. Mabel Crabb, Lohrville; Delmer Welch, Des Moines; and Mrs. Doris Vinson, Knoxville; also three grandchildren, Duane Jones, Phyllis Crabb and Maureen Welch survive.

He was the eldest of a family of eight children, and four brothers and three sisters survive, namely James A., Will, Clyde and Frank, Mrs. Rebecca Thompson, Mrs. May Beaver, and Mrs. Gertie Kennedy, all of Knoxville. Also a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends are left to mourn his passing.

Deceased was preceded in death by his father and mother.

He was converted in a Billy Sunday revival in Knoxville, 32 years ago and joined the Presbyterian Church at this place, later removing his membership to Springdale M. E., and still later to Melcher M. E., where he was a member at the time of his death. He helped in the church in every way and always enjoyed his Christian life.

The deceased lived in Marion County all his life spending the past 31 years on his farm near Dallas. He was a kind and considerate husband and father who enjoyed his home and family. He was always willing to help his neighbors as long as his health permitted. He bore his intense pain with courage and patience.

Funeral services were held on Thursday at 2 p. m., from the Eden M. E. Church, conducted by Rev. Azel Smith, assisted by Rev. J. B. Pritchard, burial in Lincoln Cemetery.
