Knoxville - Kathy Wells Carter, 34, 1905 Ho-Co-Ta-Ke Lane, Knoxville, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday (Sept. 23, 1988) at Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center after a long illness.
A native of Chattanooga, she was a graduate of Church Hill High School and East Tennessee State University.
Mrs. Carter was a member of the First Baptist Church, Church Hill.
She was a former employee of Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center, The Kingsport Chamber of Commerce, and Don’s Pharmacy, Church Hill.
She was preceded in death by her father Dan W. Wells.
Surviving are her husband, Craig Carter; her mother, Rosa Lee Wells, Church Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Wally (Sharon) Ford, Weber City, Va. And Mrs. Jerry (Debbie) Moore, Church Hill; one brother, Danny Wells Kingsport.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Church Hill Memorial Gardens.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, c/o: Mrs. James Page, 409 Cannongate Road, Kingsport, Tenn. 37660.
Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
