NEWPORT NEWS - Walter David Wiseman, 56, died Friday, Dec. 29, in Mary Immaculate Hospital.
A native of West Virginia, Mr. Wiseman had been a Peninsula resident for 10 years. He was employed by Virginia Ventures as a maintenance superintendent at Aqua Vista Apartments. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Wiseman was a past member of the Warren, Ohio, Moose Lodge and past member of the Newport News American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Helen C. Wiseman; a stepdaughter, Donna W. Prevatt of Smithfield; two stepsons, Phillip R. Winzenrith and Thomas Eugene Richardson, both of Newport News; two sisters, Grace W. Hunt and Dorothy W. Pinson, both of Toano; two brothers, Robert Wiseman Jr. of Charleston, W.Va., and Thomas Wiseman of Beckley, W.Va.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Peninsula Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Russell O. Leonard. Burial will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
