Mr. Allen, who had resided near Abingdon as a farmer the last 33 years, formerly lived at Bedford, IA, but was born in Taylor County, Iowa, Oct. 3, 1895. He was a member of the American Legion, having seen military service during World War I.
His marriage to Miss Hazel Niles took place in Galesburg, Jan. 10, 1922. Surviving are his wife and two daughters, Mrs. James Mitchell, Avon, and Mrs. Harold Hickerson, Abingdon; six grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Fred Gaddis, Braddyville, IA.
