Around April, 1912, Hazel traveled via covered wagon, with her sister, Elsie, to Canada to homestead. Elsie's husband, family and a number of others (9 adults and 12 children) also made the trip. One of those adults was Elsie's brother-in-law, William Arlint. William was later to become Hazel's husband.
Hazel married William Arlint on Decenber 13, 1916 in Norquay, Canada. Together, they had six children: Mildred, Howard, Marie, Elizabeth, William and Ralph.
Around 1925, the family returned to the United States living first in Idaho and various locations in Montana. Eventually, they settled in Lake County, Montana.
Besides being buried next to her husband, William, Hazel now rests near several of her children. Marie Decker, Howard Arlint and Elizabeth Reum are all buried in this cemetery.
