She was born May 10, 1931 in Twin Falls, Idaho, a daughter of Dade Goss and Ruby Thurston Goss. She married Albert Wayne Clark in April of 1951. He died September 6, 1960. She married Carl J. Schoenberger in 1974. He died in June of 1979.
Rita's mother died when she was 3 years old and she was raised by her aunt, Lou Havens. She went to school in Bonanza and attended Wasatch Academy and St. Mary's Academy. She was a homemaker, a beautician and worked for Colorado Community Services and for Hiko Bell. She was a member of Kingsbury Community Church and the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed reading, growing roses and animals. She loved spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands and one son, J. Vance Clark. Rita is survived by her sons and daughters, R. Lance Clark of Spokane, Washington, Mrs. Harley (Tonah) Jackson of Vernal, Utah, Keni Sue Morey of Vernal, Utah, Albert Wayne "Bert" and wife Gay Clark of Vernal, Utah and Kori Jean Clark Bowers of Grand Junction; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister and brother, Reba Hawkins of Vernal, Utah and John and wife Laurie Goss of Price, Utah; daughter-in-law, Jean Clark of Taylorsville, Utah; and special friend, LuJean Richardson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 30, 1998, 2:00 p.m., at Kingsbury Community Church. Friends may call at Thomson's Vernal Mortuary on Tuesday evening, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Burial will be Thursday, October 1, 1998, 12:00 Noon, at the Orchard Cemetery in Grand Junction, Colorado.
