Henry M. Adams, "Sarge", a dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, has left this world, going to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, November 15, 2004. Mr. Adams was born November 7, 1924, in Sprinhill, Iowa, and was a longtime resident of Marrero. He was retired GynSgt, United States Marine Corp, and a retired process operator with Chevron Plant in Belle Chasse, Louisiana . Henry was an active member of First Baptist Church of Marrero and Camper on Mission.Henry is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Nada; a daughter, Kathy Melendez and her husband, Amado of Baton Rouge, Louisiana ; sons, Stephen Adams of New Orleans, Louisiana , and Robert King and wife, Marian of Westlake, Louisiana ; four grandsons and one granddaughter; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Eureta Keeney, Indianola, Iowa and Marilyn Grief, Dallas Center, Iowa; brothers, Howard Adams of Dallas, Texas, Warren Adams of Marrero, Louisiana , and Vernon Adams of Grimes, Iowa, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Merle Adams, sisters, Martha Olive Adams and Rosemary Kauffman; brothers, Donald Adams and Glenn Adams.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. Funeral services will be celebrated in the chapel of WESTSIDE/LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 5101 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY, on Friday, November 19, 2004, at 10:00am. Burial services will be held at 1:00pm at Port Hudson National Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm. Memorial gifts, in Mr. Adams name, may be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church of Marrero, 4001 7th Street, Marrero LA 70072
