He was born Aug. 6,1935, in Imler, son of the late William and Lillian (Finnegan) Acker. He married Lucinda Delozier Oct. 12, 1974, in Altoona.
Mr. Acker was a member of Acker First Grace Brethren Church, Altoona.
He worked as a machine operator at Huck Fasteners (formerly Penn Jacobson) for 27 years.
Mr. Acker was an avid hunter and had a gift for making people laugh.
Surviving are his wife; and a brother, Charles LeRoy Acker of Sproul. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Pauline Walter and Violet Helsel; and a brother, Donald.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5,2001, at Stevens Memorial Chapel by Pastor Barry Rowe and the Rev. Dr. Michael Volovsk. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Grace Brethren Church. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at The Stevens Mortuary Inc,, 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
