Charles Barnett was born to I.T. and Bobbie Barnett July 21, 1923 in Hitchita, Oklahoma. He lived there for a few months and his family moved to Okmulgee, Oklahoma where they lived until the death of his father in January, 1924. Here he lived receiving his early education and religious training until the age of 8 years.
Mr. Barnett's family moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1932 where they lived until they moved to Fresno, California in 1940. Mr. Barnett served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. After moving back to Fresno, he met and married the former Connie Mae Henderson December 24, 1949, and to this union three children were born.
He was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist church for many years, serving as President of the Ushers board, Financial Secretary of the Church and on the Deacons Board. He departed this life Wednesday, February 13, 1985 at the age of 61 years.
Charles Barnett leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife, Connie Barnett, of Fresno, California; three daughters, Deborah Johnson of Oakland, California, Althea Barnett and Mary Barnett, both of Fresno, California; his mother, Mrs. Bobbie Williams of Henderson, Texas; two grandchildren, Melanie Jackson and Connie Falls, both of Fresno, California; a paternal aunt, Mrs. Corine Long of San Demas, California; and a host of many other relatives and friends.
