Robert lived in Michigan the latter part of his life. He died there on May 23, 1983. He had lived in Atlanta, Ga., as well. There was a service conducted by Wagner-Stark in the Moore Memorial Chapel on May 24, 1983. Afterwards, his body was brought to Athens, Limestone County, Alabama, and a service was conducted in the Reunion Church of Christ on May 26, 1983. The service was conducted by Spry Funeral Home of Athens and his speaker was Dr. K. C. Stevens of Trinity Baptist Church of Augusta, Georgia. He was then buried in Reunion Cemetery. He and his wife, Gladys Irene, share a double stone that reads "Till we shall meet".
