Gerarda (Jeri) Delores Gatica Torres, 69, of San Angelo, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at her residence. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Joey Faylona officiating. Burial will follow in Belvedere Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Monica Torres, Anthony Jones, Gregg Flores, Mark Briones, Juan Manuel Torres, Andrew Jones and Paul Yanez. Honorary pallbearers will be Adrian P. Torres, Erik Torres, Brian Acosta, Aaron Torres, Adam Torres Jr., Auden Torres, Rylan Torres, Julius Chavez and Jonathon Uresti.
Jeri was born Oct. 3, 1944, to Natividad and Gavina (Perez) Gatica in Lamesa, Texas. She married Asencion Torres Jr. on March 12, 1966, in San Angelo and had worked for Levi Straus as a bander. She was a loving mother, daughter, grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Elpidia Mares; and an infant son, Adrian Torres. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Asencion Torres Jr.; sons Paul Torres and Irma Uresti, Gabriel Torres and his wife, Belinda, Oscar Torres and his wife, Cynthia, Roger Torres and his wife, Yolanda and Adam Torres and Melinda Cardenas; daughters Nora Torres and Joseph Chavez and Norma Torres, all from San Angelo; brother Joe (Rule) Gatica and his wife, Manuela; her sisters, Isabel Salazar, Beatrice Mejia, Janie Carrasco, Anna Fitchett and Rosalinda Lucio and her husband, Frank; 22 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
