Ruth Eleanor Waters, 87, of Nora Springs died Monday (September 29, 2014) at Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs.

Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday (October 3, 2014) at the Christian Church, 102 N. Hawkeye Avenue, Nora Springs with Reverend Beverly Butler officiating. Burial will be held in Rock Grove Cemetery, Nora Springs.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday (October 2, 2014) at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye Avenue, Nora Springs. Memorial contributions may be designated to the Ruth Waters Memorial Fund in care of her family.

Ruth Waters was born April 4, 1927 in Rock Grove Township the daughter of Sereno and Gladys (Allen) Bishop. She attended Rudd High School, graduating from Rudd High School in 1946. On June 16, 1946 she was united to marriage to Charley Waters at the Christian Church in Nora Springs. Ruth and Charley were married 13 years before their pride and joy of their life was born, Karen Sue.

Ruth was a homemaker and “domestic Engineer” she cleaned many homes in the Nora Springs and Mason City area most of her life. She enjoyed cooking, reading, writing and spending time with family and friends, but her great love and enjoyment was taking care of her family.
She was a member of the Christian Church, held many positions within the church also was a member of the Community Club.

Those left to cherish her memory are; beloved daughter, Karen (Greg) Nettifee, Mason City, and her beloved grandchildren, Eric (Shaada) Nettifee , Mason City, Jeremy Nettifee, Mason City; beloved great grandsons, Riley Nettifee and Hunter Lamfers; sisters-in-law, Lorie Waters, Esther (Harry) Owczarek; brother, Carroll (Joyce) Bishop; brother-in-law, Jim Hibner along with a host of nephews, nieces and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sereno and Gladys Bishop; husband, Charley Waters; brothers, David Bishop and Robert Bishop; sister, Mary Waters.
