HOLDEN, W.Va. — Mildred Taylor, 76, of Holden, went to be with the Lord Wed., Oct. 22, 2014, at Pikeville Medical Center.
Born Dec. 8, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Millard "Yap" Grimmett and the late Pansy Eskee. Also preceding her in death was a son, Timothy Taylor of Logan, and sisters: Charlene Widner of Cleveland, Ohio, and Jo Ann Null of Blair.
Mildred was a faithful member of the Monahill Memorial Freewill Baptist Church at Monaville. She was a Momaw to all that knew her. She was the "Birthday Cake Baker" for family and friends. Her cakes were known as "Momaw Cakes". She loved attending church and serving the Lord, and desired to meet all her loved ones in Heaven some wonderful day. Mildred will always be loved and sadly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy Taylor; two children: James (Connie) Taylor of North Point and Debrina Workman (Rodney Morton) of Holden; three grandchildren: Candis (Jamie) Ellis of Chapmanville, Jordan Workman of Holden and Kristin Taylor Browning of North Pointe; one loving sister, Joyce "Dot" Damron of Holden, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sat., Oct. 25, at Monahill Memorial Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Andy Maynard, Joseph Vance and Eric "Tubby" Rakes officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be two hours prior to service Saturday the church.
