Thelma "Dean" Wycuff, age 79 of Carrollton, passed away in her home on Friday, March 06, 2015. Dean was born on January 27, 1936 in Etowah County, Alabama to the late Tom Hollingsworth and Effie Holliday Hollingsworth. She lived in Georgia for over 50 years and was a part of the Carroll County Community since 1983. Dean was a faithful member of the Carrollton Congregational Holiness Church where she was present every time the doors were open! She loved attending church and she loved all of her brothers and sisters in Christ! Everyone looked forward to gathering where Dean would bring her Five Flavored Pound Cake and every expectant mother could count on Dean for a beautiful hand crochet baby blanket.
In addition to her parents, Dean is preceded in death by her sister, Lona Wycuff; brother, JC Hollingsworth; and her oldest son, Bobby 'Vandel" Wycuff all of Alabama.
Dean is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Bob Wycuff of Temple, GA; son, Larry and Ann Wycuff of Newnan, GA; daughter, Kathy and Michael Lambert of Bowdon, GA; daughter, Glenda and Kevin McCarty of Newnan, GA; brother, Kenneth Hollingsworth and sister, Mary Nell Cahela both of Etowah County, AL; grandchildren, Wayne Wycuff, Daniel Walker, Nicholas Walker, Will Wycuff, Cody Walker, Devin Wycuff, Kayman Duke, Christopher Lambert, Paige Shackleford, Sam McCarty, and Grayson McCarty; and great grandchildren, Elyssa and Chancey Walker, Hunter Wycuff and Kelsey Wycuff.
Funeral service will be conducted Monday, March 09, 2015 at 11:00 AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Cook, Rev. JM "Buck" Jones, and Rev. Chris Jiles officiating. Music will be rendered by Tanya Cook. Interment will follow in Carrollton City Cemetery. Dean's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 08, 2015 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel of Carrollton has charge of the arrangements.
