Robert Earl "Bob" Montgomery Jr., 83 longtime Duncan resident and businessman passed away on Monday, October 20th here in Duncan.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 23, 2014 at West Side Christian Church with Rev. Terry Schlein officiating. Burial well follow in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Bob was born August 4, 1931 in Oklahoma City, OK to Robert E. & Alice (Hartman) Montgomery Sr.
He married Jeane Miller on August 23, 1952 at Sulphur, OK and she preceded him in death on September 17, 2011.
He received his bachelors degree from Oklahoma A & M, was a member of the West Side Christian Church, a 32nd degree Mason and an avid OSU fan and alumni. He opened Montgomery Landscape Nursery in 1955 and is operated today by his son Tom.
Bob is survived by his son Tom Montgomery of Duncan and three granddaughters; Kylie Starnes & husband David, Kelsie Brown & husband Cade and Karlie Montgomery.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert E. & Alice Montgomery, his wife Jeane Miller Montgomery, a son Robert Earl Montgomery III, a brother Bill Montgomery and a sister Thelma Stellzinmuiler.
Pallbearers will be Randy Brown, Jimmy Bullock, Rick Gann, James Heaberlin, Todd Murphree, Bobby Randolph, Russell Thornton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made be made to West Side Christian Church Memorial Fund, 1801 W. Beech, Duncan, OK 73533.
