Gloria "Peg" Durst

ZANESVILLE - Gloria "Peg" Durst, 60, of Zanesville, died at 5:19 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009 after a 6 week courageous battle with cancer at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 19, 1948, in Lafayette, Indiana, a daughter of Charles L. Greten of Zanesville and the late Gloria C. Markert Greton.

She had worked as a home health aide and worked for Zanesville City Schools performing vision and hearing screenings. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Evangelical Church. She enjoyed gardening and fishing.

Surviving in addition to her father, is her husband of 35 years, Leonard R. "Butch" Durst, whom she married February 9, 1974, of the home; two daughters, Gayla (Todd) Gibson and Mollie (Robert) Hatfield, both of Zanesville; a son, Joshua (Megan) Durst of Zanesville; five grandchildren, Amanda, Matthew, Jessica, Brandon, Logan; and a granddaughter, Addison Marie, due in August; a great-grandson, Ryley Gibson; and a sister, Gail (Colin) Detty of Zanesville.

Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2009 at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Kudart officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
