A 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Sunday May 1, 2016 at Eden United Methodist Church in Madison with Reverend Donald Tabler officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
A Stokes County native, Louise was born April 23, 1929, the daughter of Walter and Eva Flynn Southern. She a member of Eden United Methodist Church and was a choir member. Louise was a longtime employee of Madison Throwing Company.
In Addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by four sisters, Mae Smith, Aliene Manuel, Elizabeth Simmons and Margie Neal; two brothers, Roy and Carl Southern.
Louise is survived by three children, Thomas Harold Smith of Stokesdale, Brenda Hutcherson and husband Haywood of Walnut Cove, and Mildred "Mickey" Rothrock and husband Jerry of Walnut Cove; sister Della Southern of Pine Hall; brother, Hardy Southern and wife Gloria of Walnut Cove; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Smith and wife Julie, Brandi Allen and husband Kenneth, Sherrie Smith, Brian Rothrock and Bradley Rothrock and wife Christina; six great-grandchildren, Taylor Rothrock, Cole Rothrock, Conner Rothrock, Chaz Price, Emilee Allen and Nyla Allen.
Louise was a wonderful sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She dearly love her family and all of the members of her church family.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Saturday April 30, 2016 at the funeral home and other times at the home of Jerry & Mickey Rothrock. Online condolences may be sent to www.rayfuneralhome.com.
