Obituary of R. Jeannette Eshelman
Mrs. R. Jeannette Eshelman, 80, of Cove Lane Road, Roaring Spring, died Friday morning Jan. 20, 2006, at the Presbyterian Home, Hollidaysburg.
A funeral was held Monday morning at the First Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring, by Pastors Galen H. Brumbaugh and Kate Gandy.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
She was born March 10, 1925, in Upper Claar, a daughter of George A. and Katherine D. (Dively) Claar.
She married Clarence W. Eshelman on Aug. 4, 1949, in Cumberland, Md.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Linda E. Eastep of Williamsburg; two grandchildren, Jason and Adam Eastep; and a brother, Harold "Shorty" Claar of Roaring Spring.
Mrs. Eshelman was a 1943 graduate of Roaring Spring High School and a 1946 graduate of the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing.
She retired from nursing in 1976 with over 30 years of service at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.
She was a member of the First Church of the Brethren and its I-Try Sunday School Class.
She also was a member of the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.
The J. Gary Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring, was in charge of arrangements.
