Glenn F. Grady, 67, of Suwanee and Hartwell, died Saturday, April 11, 2015, after a brief battle with cancer.
He is survived by his sons, Sean Grady and fiancée Amie of Alpharetta, Scott Grady and fiancée Sarah of Suwanee, and granddaughters, Anna, Sara and Tessa Grady. He is also survived by his companion of nine years, Ann Senkbeil Cooper of Hartwell and her children, Matt and Madeline Cooper of Athens, and David Cooper of Charlotte, N.C. He is survived by sisters, Beverly Gauvreau, Veronica Alonso, and Patricia Seaton.
Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Ann Grady; parents, William and Evelyn Grady; brothers, Lawrence Grady, and Daniel Grady.
Glenn was born in Washington, DC and served in the United States Army in Vietnam. His career was spent in retail credit; he was with Capital Credit Corporation, Filene's in Boston, and retired as Executive Vice-President of Credit at Woodward and Lothrop Department Store in Washington, DC. He lived in Suwanee and Hartwell for the last 25 years of his life. Glenn enjoyed 12 post retirement years associated with Atria of Hartwell; he loved the residents and became personal friends with many of them, including the late Edgar and Frances Senkbeil of Hartwell and their family. Glenn loved his family and Ann's family and was truly loved and cherished by them. He enjoyed his Hartwell friends, the lake, his beloved pets, and all animals.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, April 14, at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel in Buford.
