Betty Ruth Jones Browning Morrison, 80, of Clute, passed away at Lake Jackson Health Care Center on September 22, 2013. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 26, at Restwood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 27 at the funeral home with Pastor Rodney Coates officiating. Interment will follow at Restwood Memorial Park Cemetery.
Betty was born January 27, 1933 to Roy Eugene Jones and Genava Clark in Normangee, Texas. She attended Freeport High School and ran Browning Child Care.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son Darrell Wayne Browning; daughter Hazel Darlene Carter; brother Robert Eugene Jones; first husband Luther Elvis Browning; and second husband Norman Morrison.
Survivors include her sister Ruby Jean Alvy; sons Allen Troy Browning and wife Paula of Clute, David Roy Browning of Austin; grandchildren Elvis Ray Carter and wife Stephanie, Elden Lee Carter and wife Tonya, Christopher Allen Carter, Terry Lynn Carter and wife Crystal, Dawn Tory Free, Gregory Allen Browning and wife Ashley, Stefanie Nicole Browning and husband Brad, Jayson Bush, Nicole Clark and husband Curtis, Derrick Smith and fiancé Kathleen Garska, Melissa Tindell and husband Derek, Jennifer Davey and husband Kevin, Lauren Nicole Browning, Amanda Celice Browning; and numerous great-grandchildren.
