Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Rev. Eldon Trubee officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to Millersburg Presbyterian Church, 90 S. Clay St., Millersburg 44654.
She was born Nov. 20, 1935, to C. Paul and Lena (Glasgo) Anderson and married Ralph Lawhead on Feb. 20, 1955. He died Dec. 23, 1996.
A devoted wife and mother, Virginia had worked for a number of years at the former Adams Bank and then at the Holmes County Recorders office for several years.
Along with her husband, she was instrumental in the puppet ministry, while members of the United Church of Christ. She was known as a faithful Christian witness who affected the lives of many through her prayer ministry.
She attended Millersburg Presbyterian Church and enjoyed gardening and reading.
Surviving are children, Mike (Kathy) Lawhead of Millersburg and Jenny (Jamie) Menuez of Killbuck; grandchildren, Eric, Vanesa and Benjamin Wright; a sister, Margaret (Donald) Collins of Millersburg; a brother, Richard (Anita) Anderson of Howard; an aunt and uncle, Pauline and Weldon Gindlesberger of Millersburg and aunt, Louella Patterson of Walnut Creek; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog and constant companion, Maissie.
In addition to her beloved husband, her parents died previously.
