Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Richard Tyson and Pastor Kenneth Blease will officiate the services.
Lessie was born May 8, 1936 in Scotland County, a daughter of the late Nash and Stella Cox Carlisle. She was the devoted wife to the late John Howard Autry. She was a homemaker and retired textile worker from JP Stevens, Incorporated. She served as a member of the East Laurinburg Baptist Church. Before her illness, Lessie enjoyed quilting and caring for her pets.
She is survived by her sons, Lee Autry and wife Mary of Laurinburg, David Autry of Laurinburg; her daughter, Patricia Autry of Laurinburg, step daughter, Ruth Ann Carter of Concord; brothers, Donald Carlisle of Hamlet, J.W. Carlisle of Thomasville; her sisters, Janie Shepherd of Laurel Hill, Essie Sutton of Wallace, SC, Helen Staton of Rockingham, Sarah Benton of Laurel Hill; fifteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
