Mrs. REBECCA (DOUGLASS) EPPERSON was the daughter of Henry Douglass. She was the stepdaughter of Mrs. Catherine (Smith) Douglass.

She was the wife of Herman Epperson Sr. whom she wed on November 30, 1908 in Marion County, Texas.

Obituary
"Funeral services for Mrs. Rebecca Epperson, 73, of Jefferson, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday from the Lewis & Walker Funeral Home chapel. Mrs. Epperson died Wednesday in the Marion County Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Epperson was born on January 1, 1899, in Marion County, to the late Henry and Rena Douglas. She was a member of Cypress Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors include four sons, Clifford Epperson and Raymond Epperson, both of Jefferson, Jimmie Epperson, of Dallas, and Herman Epperson Jr., of Los Angeles, California; four daughters, Miss Janie Epperson, Miss Mamie L. Epperson and Miss Louise Epperson, all of Jefferson, and Mrs. Dorothy M. Landen, of Dallas; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four nieces; and two nephews."

- The U.S. Social Death Index Record recorded that Rebecca's date of birth was January 11, 1889. This data is reflected in this memorial. As well, it was recorded in the 1900 census records of Marion County, Texas that Rebecca was born 1887.
- Rebecca's sister-in-law, Mrs. Siberia Epperson, was the informant on the death certificate.
- As noted on the birth certificate for their daughter, Mary Louise Epperson, it was reported that Mary Louise was the 13th child born to their marriage. Further, at the time of Mary Louise's birth, only 11 of the Epperson children were still living.
- Rebecca (age 12) and her sister, Cora (age 13), were recorded as living in the home with their father, Henry Douglass, and their stepmother, Catherine, as reflected in the 1900 census records of Marion County, Texas. It was further recorded that Henry and Catherine had been married 10 years at the time of the census. Two additional children had been born from Henry's marriage to Catherine who was the mother of only two children. However, neither of these children were living at the time. Additionally, the death certificates for Rebecca and Cora noted their mother's name as unknown/blank.
