Born August 8, 1957 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Garnet E. Deardorff, Sr. and Margaret E. (Davis) Deardorff. He grew up in Mt. Airy, MD.
He graduated from Linganore High School, near New Market, MD, with the class of 1976. Mr. Deardorff served with the United States Army for three years from 1979 to 1982.
He and his wife Beth Ann (Renn) Deardorff were married on June 18, 1978.
Mr. Deardorff worked as an automotive detailer for various dealerships in the Hagerstown and Gettysburg areas.
Joe's world was tossed upside down when he was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor in 1999. He was told that he had about two years to live, but that didn't stop him. At the time of his death he was still tumor free, thanks to the Grace of God. He suffered through many small and some very serous surgeries due to the effect of radiation.
