Her husband, Wayne C. Copley, preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 2005. Nellie and Wayne were married 75 years. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Nina Mae (Kennedy) Parsons.
Nellie was a member of Holliday Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and before moving to Niles Valley in 2005, she was a member of the Stony Fork Baptist Church where she was the organist for 60 years. Nellie and Wayne were farmers from 1938 until 1964. An accomplished musician, she loved to sew, grow vegetables and flowers. In addition, she enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are her children. Nellie was preceded in death by a son, C. Wayne Copley in 2007 and an infant daughter in 1932. She was the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-granddaughter. Her sister Audrey Ruby Torpy preceded her in death in 2011.
Burial will be in West Branch Cemetery.
