OBITUARY:

Lola H. Jeffries, 91, of Brookston, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Sunday, January 27, 2013 at St. Elizabeth East of Lafayette.
She was born May 10, 1921 in Noblesville to the late Carl LeRoy and Iva (Wiles) Nichols. She graduated from Brookston High School in 1939 and later attended junior college while they lived in Illinois.
Her marriage was to Leo Jeffries on June 3, 1939 in Brookston. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1988.
Lola and Leo lived in Brookston then moved to Robinson, Illinois for ten years. They then moved to Maryland while Leo was in the military, and after that, they moved back to Brookston.
Lola was a member of the Brookston United Methodist Church, where she was active in choir, and was proud to have been a bible study leader. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge, where she was Past Noble Grand.
She was a homemaker, and enjoyed crocheting, quilting, reading. Lola and Leo also enjoyed camping, and visited many different campgrounds throughout the United States.
Surviving are three children; Leola "Snooky" Widmer, Stanley Jeffries (wife: Fairie) and David Jeffries all of Brookston, one sister; Thelma Foust (husband: David) of Brookston, four grandchildren; Alan Jeffries (wife: Annette), Randy Jeffries (wife: Jennifer), Monte Widmer and Jennier Voight (husband: Jason), granddaughter-in-law, Maria Widmer, seven great-grandchildren; Andrew, Adam, Allison, Matthew, Justin, Carla and Gina and her beloved Boston Terrier, Buddy.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother and two grandchildren; Bryan and Brannon Widmer.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Her funeral service will be held there at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 with Pastor Tom Watt officiating. Interment to follow at Brookston Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Brookston United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
