Born LaDonne Jean Watts, she attended Sacred Heart Nursing School in Eugene, OR and became a Registered Nurse. She entered the US Army in the late 1950's, becoming a 1st Lt. She married P. Favata in 1961 (Div. 1964); they had a son, Joseph Favata, in 1962. She worked for several years at the Veteran's Hospital in Portland, OR until retirement, then worked again at Portland Adventist Convalescent Center (formerly Portland Adventist Hospital, where she was born in 1937) until her final retirement in the late 1980's. She married Norman L. Amble in 1988. With no previous outward symptoms he (Norman) died un-expectantly 15 months later of a stroke. Some of her hobbies were going to see family and friends throughout the year, including visiting friends in the Alaskan Wilderness, traveling, shopping, and was planning to sky dive around the time of her death. In the mid-90's she decided to try to contact every living First Lady just for the socialization adventure. She contacted them and received letters from every living former First Lady and even then-First Lady H. Clinton. However, she was especially delighted with the letter she received from fmr. First Lady Nancy Reagan, as it was the only one that was personal and was hand-signed. LaDonne Amble passed away from complications following a fall from her front porch in 2004.
