Dave & Isabelle lived and raised their family of eight at the north end of Ware Lake Rd. just north of Poticaw, there was a boat- landing on Ward Bayou called 'Dave's Landing.' The surrounding area was known as 'Canny Hammock.'

Obituary
David Barnes died Thursday night from an attack of acute indigestion. Mr. Barnes was born Dec. 25, 1858, and was therefore 73 years old.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Isobel Nobles Barnes and seven children; John Barnes of Vancleave; Noll Barnes of Escatawpa; Mrs. Elon (Frank) Miller of Mobile; Mesdames E.A. Goff, Scott Goff, Albert Miller and Charles Snyder of Vancleave.
There are also a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The funeral services were held Saturday at the Latter Day Saint church of which the deceased was a member, by a minister from Mobile....
